After more than a decade of public community-building efforts by Bitcoiners in Vietnam, the country can finally welcome its first dedicated Bitcoin Hub:
₿itCoffee in Da Nang, located at 1 Nguyễn Đăng Giai, on the northern outskirts of one of Vietnam’s fastest-growing coastal cities.
For once, this is a real Bitcoin space – orange on the outside, orange on the inside – operated by a real Bitcoiner with the right principles and values at heart.
₿itcoffee is the dream made reality by Bavarian expatriate Anton – combining the speed of action Vietnam is known for with the deep sense of quality his home region has made a name for itself in the world.
While initially launching as a café with an attached kitchen serving local and regional cuisine, the longer-term vision extends far beyond “just another café.” The goal is to create a true educational and community hub for Bitcoiners – whether local residents, members of Vietnam’s wider Bitcoin community, or international Bitcoiners passing through Da Nang.
₿itcoffee also answers a long-standing wish expressed by many Bitcoiners in Vietnam and across wider East Asia: the creation of a dedicated physical gathering place similar to those already established elsewhere in the region, such as Bob Space Bangkok, Tokyo Bitcoin Base, or Bitcoin House Bali.
Now that it exists, it deserves the support of the community it was built for.
Operating a physical community space is no easy undertaking, and we’re glad that one determined Bavarian Bitcoiner has been willing to take on the tough challenge.

The BitcoinVN Shop × ₿itcoffee Da Nang Showroom Partnership
BitcoinVN Shop, a fully-owned subsidiary of BitcoinVN, Vietnam’s original Bitcoin exchange service, has been serving the domestic market since 2017 as an authorized supplier of authentic devices from Trezor and Ledger, two of the most widely used hardware wallet manufacturers in the industry.
The launch of BitcoinVN Shop was driven by a simple idea: making self-custody as seamless as possible for users entering the Bitcoin ecosystem. An exchange should not seek to retain custody of customer funds – partly because the exchange itself eventually becomes a higher-value target, but also simply because Bitcoin is meant to be the people’s money: owned by the people themselves.
Nothing is gained if “adoption” ultimately deteriorates in holding custodial balances through an exchange, ETF, or some other intermediary. At that point, one might just as well keep fiat in a bank account and stocks in a brokerage app.
Self-custody – holding your own money without counterparty risk – is one of the things Bitcoin was uniquely designed to enable, and continues to do exceptionally well.
Making this form of adoption – true Bitcoin adoption – more accessible is a mission shared by both BitcoinVN Shop and the team behind ₿itcoffee Da Nang.
Whether through access to the right hardware or through educational resources explaining both the “why” and the “how” of self-custody, our teams approach the same objective from complementary directions.
By reducing friction and lowering the barriers to self-custody, we hope to help more Bitcoiners take possession of their own keys – securely, confidently, and with the right setup from day one.
Historical Ties and a shared Tradition of Independence
Interestingly enough, this partnership also revives historical ties between Frankfurt (where some of our founders originate from) and Bavaria – both of which stood side-by-side during the Prussian War of aggression against the Southern German states in 1866.
When Prussian troops began their hostile occupation of Frankfurt to demand crushing financial extortion, it ultimately led to the self-sacrifice of Frankfurt’s last Mayor, Karl Konstanz Viktor Fellner. He chose death over compliance to shield the citizens he was entrusted to protect. It is deeply embedded in the cultural heritage of Frankfurt’s people to consider how to react when faced with a forceful, violent aggressor demanding the treasure you have worked for all your life.
While Bitcoin was unfortunately not yet a solution in 1866 to protect the wealth of Frankfurt’s citizens against violent invaders, it is an option now. As the follow-on generations of Fellner’s era, the Frankfurt diaspora has a distinct duty to spread the word and value of independent, sovereign money.
What partnership allows to do
What this partnership allows us to do is provide easier access to hardware wallet solutions for customers who – for good reason – are cautious about providing personally identifiable information when purchasing self-custody tools.
Such data are highly sought after by criminal enterprises, as they can provide attractive target lists of individuals who may keep significant digital assets at home, potentially exposing them to burglary, extortion, or worse.
While the initial launch of our Da Nang pickup location was accompanied by occasional stock shortages – for which we would like to apologize – our Ho Chi Minh City headquarters is working closely with the Da Nang team to maintain higher inventory levels and improve replenishment procedures. We expect these issues to be resolved within the coming weeks, allowing customers to access a broader product selection with same-day availability.
Initially, ₿itcoffee will serve primarily as a showroom, meaning visitors should not expect a fully stocked retail location from day one. As our Da Nang operations continue to develop, however, we already look forward to deepening the partnership and expanding the range of Bitcoin-related products and services available on-site.
