The first in a series of El Salvador–related announcements from Team BitcoinVN: The commemorative El Salvador edition of the Satscard is now available in the Vietnamese market.

El Salvador holds a special place in Bitcoin history as the first country in the world to officially recognize Bitcoin as legal tender through its groundbreaking “Bitcoin Law”.

While the topic has sparked considerable debate both within and beyond the Bitcoin community – and recently drew harsh criticism from the IMF, which sought to strip key provisions from the original Bitcoin Law in exchange for new fiat loans – the once crime-ridden nation has re-emerged under the astute leadership of Nayib Bukele as the globally recognized “Bitcoin Country.” It has increasingly drawn a brain drain from Western nations, as Bitcoiners look abroad in search of a brighter, safer, and more prosperous future.
El Salvador continued publicly stacking Bitcoin throughout the controversy – undeterred and unapologetic.

Both Vietnam and El Salvador are globally recognized as renowned coffee producers, with fertile, volcano-rich soil contributing to some of their most famous growing regions.
In El Salvador, President Nayib Bukele has spotlighted this heritage with his “Bean of Fire” initiative – a premium coffee brand grown in volcanic highlands and positioned as a symbol of national pride and economic revival. It’s part of a broader effort to reclaim El Salvador’s reputation for high-quality coffee, once a major global exporter before decades of instability derailed the industry.

Vietnam, meanwhile, rose to global coffee prominence in the post-war years, thanks in part to agricultural development programs supported by East Germany and other Comecon allies during the 1980s. Today, Vietnam is the world’s second-largest coffee producer, with regions like the Central Highlands becoming synonymous with mass-scale Robusta cultivation – and more recently, a growing movement toward high-quality Arabica and specialty coffee production.

The Bitcoin community in Vietnam has recently begun strengthening its ties with El Salvador. Among other highlights, the inaugural Saigon Satoshi Flea Market organized by the local community last summer featured an authentic Salvadoran pupusa booth, while the Christmas edition welcomed Ms. Bitcoin from El Salvador herself, who came to experience some of the best Vietnam has to offer.

The Satscard is, in many ways, to Bitcoiners what commemorative gold coins are to the goldbug community:
While fully functional as physical bearer-asset money, some may simply prefer to keep it on display – as a collectible item on the shelf.
