The final quarter of 2026 brings several opportunities to meet members of the BitcoinVN team in person – a comparatively rare occurrence. As one of the most experienced teams in Southeast Asia, with more than a decade spent building, managing, operating and delivering digital asset infrastructure, our team remains in high demand from clients and partners.
Our commitments to the projects we are advising on alongside our persistent work analyzing and defending against emerging cyber threats in an increasingly challenging environment – where ever more powerful AI models are amplifying attackers’ capabilities – unfortunately leave us with very little time for social activities these days.
However, aside from our scheduled attendance at the upcoming Bitcoin Thailand Conference – Southeast Asia’s largest Bitcoin-focused get-together of the year – we will also be attending some smaller events closer to our traditional home ground.
Your next opportunity to come and meet us in person is coming up rather soon, as we will be attending the Orangefren Saigon meetup on 8 November 2026.
The exact time and location will be announced closer to the date; in the meantime, feel free to contact us via our usual channels for an early heads-up.
While admission will be free of charge, please note that no free food will be provided. Guests are required to order food at the venue and settle their own bills. Courteous conduct appropriate to the setting is expected, with consideration for our host venue and fellow guests.
Who is Orangefren?
If you’re the “toxic Bitcoin maxi” type of person, this might not be to your liking – but Orangefren is first and foremost a fren of the other popular “orange coin”, Monero.

As an organiser of MoneroKon 2026, he has been actively contributing to Europe’s thriving Monero community and bringing together people who are committed to preserving financial privacy as a necessary precaution in a world of rapidly escalating threats, both online and offline.

This year’s conference featured long-standing contributors to the advancement of privacy-preserving technologies, including Francisco “ArticMine” Cabanas, Max Hillebrand and Super Testnet. It took place alongside Bitcoin FilmFest in Warsaw, which BitcoinVN also supported as a sponsor.
Orangefren himself hails from Poland – a country with long-standing ties of friendship and cooperation with Vietnam. As we outlined in our earlier Bitcoin FilmFest coverage, Polish contributions have ranged from post-war reconstruction to preserving Vietnam’s cultural heritage.
One particularly enduring example is the work of Polish architect Kazimierz Kwiatkowski, affectionately known as “Kazik”, who helped preserve Hoi An, My Son and Hue, and whose contributions are commemorated with a monument in Hoi An’s old town.

Poland also helped train Vietnam’s technical workforce: from the 1960s to the early 1990s, more than 4,000 Vietnamese students and scientific specialists studied there, alongside over 3,500 skilled workers, mainly in coal mining and shipbuilding. That cooperation continues through partnerships such as the four-decade relationship between Hanoi University of Mining and Geology and AGH University of Krakow, supporting academic exchanges and joint research.

The trade relationship extends from machinery and electronics to everyday staples such as coffee, with Vietnam ranking among Poland’s largest suppliers of green coffee beans.

Orangefren’s community work also serves a practical purpose: helping people understand the risks of exposing too much personal and financial information online, and the tools available to protect themselves.
In this day and age of advanced AI-powered OSINT capabilities and increasingly frequent and coordinated physical attacks on crypto holders, it is of utmost importance to avoid having your name tied to your cryptocurrency holdings in order to minimize the personal security risks to yourself and your loved ones.
While it certainly seems like an uphill battle these days, given the sensitive personal data being leaked daily from various insecure databases around the world, teaching users about proper cyber hygiene and helping people protect their financial privacy is a cause worth supporting – to thwart criminal activity before it even has a chance to materialize.
The first line of defense remains:
What is not known can’t be targeted.
BitcoinVN and Orangefren
Orangefren is one of BitcoinVN’s long-standing integration partners – you can access our services through the Orangefren interface, with eligible swaps covered up to 0.016 BTC under the OrangeFren Guarantee, subject to its terms.
BitcoinVN distinguishes itself as one of the industry’s longest-running exchange operators and service providers – going back to early 2014, when its founding team, bringing together early members of the Frankfurt/Rhine-Main Bitcoin community and local Vietnamese founders, launched Vietnam’s first Bitcoin exchange service.
As time went on and technology and regulations evolved, the team gradually shifted its focus toward native crypto-to-crypto swap services – including in-house support for Monero through its own liquidity base and wallet infrastructure.

Orangefren, launched in early 2022, helps users compare offers from multiple exchanges and find a suitable service for their particular swap, with a strong emphasis on financial privacy. Users can compare offers without creating an account, and Orangefren never takes custody of their funds – the selected exchange handles the swap, while Orangefren has a documented history of assisting users when a service provider engages in questionable practices.
While going directly through a swap service may be cheaper in some cases, Orangefren’s added value is having someone on your side when things go wrong. Its established personal and professional ties with integration partners allow it to raise concerns directly and work toward resolving disputes on its users’ behalf.
