Only a few days remain until the largest Bitcoin-centric conference in Asia returns to Hong Kong for the second year in a row.
After its inaugural event in 2024, the organizers behind the global Bitcoin Conference series-whose first edition launched under difficult circumstances in San Francisco in 2020, right in the midst of the global lockdown crisis-have once again chosen the iconic harbour city, which has served as a gateway between East and West for centuries.
This year’s Hong Kong event will also feature familiar faces from the Bitcoin community in Vietnam.
Our very own Dominik Weil, one of BitcoinVN’s founding team members, will be speaking on the panel “Bitcoin Meetups: The Heartbeat of Adoption.”

BitcoinVN, as Vietnam’s premier Bitcoin exchange service, has long supported local community initiatives through contributions of personnel, financial resources, and time. As one of the founding organizer of multiple long-running Bitcoin meetups – first in his hometown of Frankfurt and later in his current base of Saigon – Dominik Weil brings more than a decade of hands-on experience to the stage.
In addition, Andrew Panthyukin – widely regarded as one of the brightest Bitcoin minds in Vietnam – will deliver a follow-up talk on “Analyzing The History of Node Implementations” scheduled for 1:15 PM at the Genesis Stage on Thursday, 28th of August.
Andrew’s sharp critique of the looming dangers of “code bloat” on Bitcoin’s protocol layer stood out as one of the most impactful and well-attended sessions at the Bitcoin Conferences in Da Nang and Bali in 2023.

The fact that many people first encountered this issue in such depth – and that it continues to be discussed today – is largely thanks to Andrew’s relentless efforts in bringing it to light. It’s a topic rarely addressed in most public arenas, as it doesn’t align with the usual “Bitcoin is invincible, to the moon, honeybadger don’t care” narrative.
Andrew will remind the audience that victory is far from guaranteed – and that pre-emptive work, beginning with awareness, is essential to keeping the Bitcoin experiment on track.
