As long-time supporters of the Bitcoin community in Saigon, our team had the opportunity to join once again and contribute to making the Satoshi Flea Market a resounding success this Christmas season of 2024.
Together with our friends at Neutronpay, we represented homegrown Vietnamese Bitcoin businesses – while the majority of the vendors at the event catered to the tastes and needs of Bitcoin enthusiasts from Saigon and abroad.
The entire event reflected the spirit of “low time preference,” a core value of Bitcoiners. They take pride in patience and long-term thinking—putting in the hard work today to secure a better tomorrow.
This is the opposite of the fiat culture that spread throughout the 20th century, strip-mining anything of true value for quick paper profits. People wondered why, as the numbers on the balance sheets went up, the world around us kept getting worse year after year.
The Flea Market of the local Bitcoin community serves as a small, localized focal point of a global movement toward a more sound and sustainable world, one that values true and lasting principles over short-term gains.
“A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold” – Proverbs 22:1 (NIV)
Miss El Salvador graced the venue as an ambassador for Bitcoin Country, which, under the skilled and inspiring leadership of Nayib Bukele, has become a beacon of hope in a world where large swaths of land and populations continue to suffer from the final stages of the crumbling fiat system in its futile attempts to lurch into the 21st century.
Among the other vendors was BelVie, a local chocolate maker renowned for their commitment to sustainable production and the use of high-quality, ethically sourced ingredients. BelVie’s offerings brought a sweet and indulgent touch to the event, showcasing the rich potential of local craftsmanship in a community driven by values of integrity and excellence.
After a long hiatus, JuicElixir made a special one-off return at the flea market, thanks to founder Caroline Le’s close involvement with the local community. Reviving the original recipes and using Vietnam’s finest natural ingredients, the stall quickly became one of the best-running highlights of the event, refreshing attendees with its signature flavors.
Other supporting vendors included:
Led by former Pro Vietnamese basketball player Justin Young, Dynamic Recovery brought their expertise in physical therapy and sports recovery to the flea market, offering personalized sessions and advice to help attendees relieve pain and improve mobility.
They are using the latest physiotherapy techniques, such as dry needling, electric muscle stimulation, and cold baths to name a few. With certified and experienced trainers, they have something to get you recovered or fulfill your health goals.
Fruka Coffee brought bold, locally sourced brews to the flea market, showcasing the rich coffee culture of Vietnam with every cup. They are bringing out the best in what Vietnamese coffee has to offer while working with farmers to grow and compete globally for best tasting coffee from around the world.
Phương Loan Ngọc Đạm Bánh Bao:
Phương Loan Ngọc Đạm delighted the crowd with their expertly crafted bánh bao, a beloved Vietnamese steamed bun that served as the perfect snack for market-goers. Coming in customized for whichever occasion – check out the Bitcoin Buns! – Phuong Loan Ngoc Dam is the perfect snack to share.
Bluu Laundry added a touch of practicality to the event, offering eco-friendly laundry solutions that impressed visitors with their convenience and commitment to sustainability. Did you like Bitcoin Santa? Bluu made Santa’s suit and can also create custom clothes or mend your favorite garments.
We look forward to returning in the future to continue supporting and connecting with the local Bitcoin community, their friends, and families in Saigon, the dynamic economic hub of Southern Vietnam.
In the meantime, if you would like to support the good work of the Bitcoin community in Saigon, you can do so here.
