BitcoinVN<\/a>, Vietnam\u2019s first Bitcoin Exchange noted today that Vietnam has its first bricks and mortar business accepting Bitcoin<\/a>. \u201cThe move to accepting digital currency for products and services in Vietnam has been expected for some time. BitcoinVN\u2019s exchange was set up last year to help service what is expected to be a global move to digital currencies over coming years. Globally Bitcoin acceptance for payment is growing rapidly and many governments are well advanced in their own digital currency strategies.\u201d said Dominik Weil, General Director of BitcoinVN.<\/p>\n

www.Future.Travel<\/a>, a Ho Chi Minh City Travel agency became Vietnam’s first business to accept Bitcoin for payments for airline tickets, cruises, tours, and hotel accommodation. The merchant has live Bitcoin acceptance on its Future.Travel site, while the cruises and hotels are handled in offline transactions.<\/p>\n

Weil continued: \u2018We are happy to see Future.Travel providing ways for travelers to spend money in Vietnam. All those Bitcoin purchases on the local level mean that the benefits from the digital currency are flowing into the country. Merchants accept the currency and in turn hire more staff, buy products, and pay locally for goods consumed.
