Since April 23, 2011, nobody has heard from him\/her\/them after they signed off an email saying,<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"node-2\" class=\"article-blockquote\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>I\u2019ve moved on to other things. It\u2019s in good hands with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gavin_Andresen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Gavin<\/a>\u00a0and everyone.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"node-3\" class=\"article-pharagraph\">\n<p class=\"text\">A technical description, the Bitcoin white paper was the first document to outline the principles of a cryptographically secured, trustless, peer-to-peer electronic payment system that was fundamentally designed to be transparent and censorship-resistant, as well as put financial control back in the hands of the individual. At that time, the world was gripped by a financial crisis catalyzed by excessive speculation in the financial markets and banks risking millions of dollars worth of depositors\u2019 money.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"node-4\" class=\"article-pharagraph\">\n<p class=\"text\">This document lay the foundation for what is generally considered the first functional\u00a0digital currency\u00a0powered by a distributed ledger technology called\u00a0blockchain.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text\">One of the many ground-breaking elements of Satoshi\u2019s electronic payment system was that it solved the long-standing \u201cdouble-spend\u201d problem that plagued cashless spending.
