Anti-Fraud and Intervention Policy

This policy applies to cash-to-crypto purchases through our Bitcoin ATMs (BTMs). "We", "us" and "our" mean the BTM operator identified in our Terms of Service.

Intervention

We may, at our discretion and without prior notice, suspend, decline, cancel or withhold settlement of any transaction where we suspect fraud, a scam, coercion or unauthorized use. We determine the investigation and verification measures required in each case.

Intervention fee

Where our intervention prevents payout of a suspected or identified scam transaction and preserves funds, you authorize us to deduct an intervention fee of 10% of the preserved amount before returning the balance to the person legally entitled to it. The preserved amount is the gross cash received and retained from the intercepted transaction, in the currency deposited. We may reduce or waive this fee at our sole discretion; any concession applies only to that case.

Refund authorization

Before a refund is processed, the suspected or identified victim, or their duly authorized representative, must satisfy our identity and entitlement checks and sign our Refund Declaration and Authorization. That document must confirm lawful entitlement to the funds and approved payout instructions, and acknowledge the intervention fee and net refund amount.

We determine the refund method and may defer release pending completion of verification and the signed refund document, resolution of competing ownership claims, or removal of legal or regulatory restrictions. Once the refund claimant has fulfilled all applicable verification, documentation and cooperation requirements, we may apply a cooling-off period of up to 180 days before releasing the net refund. Payment to the verified recipient in accordance with the signed document discharges our obligation to return the amount so paid.
